I was not in my 20’s when I met my soul mate Knight in Shining Armor. Nope. No even close.

I was a single parent of a just-turned 11 year old who is now older (no, no, if I tell you then you’ll know how aged I am! But he’s old enough to be married!)
I was not looking to get married and kept waiting for him to become a psycho axe-murdering killer. I’m still waiting.
So we met at work, married 7 weeks later (Kids! Don’t try this at home) and 17+ years later, we’re still in the middle of our Happily Ever After with nary a wicked witch in sight!
BUT, somewhere along the line, in all this disgusting joy and happiness, I lost a battle with my weight.
It could have been when I finally got rid of my smoking habit in the mid-90’s.
It could have been that I was so happy I quit paying attention.
It could have been the amazing foods we ate at various Inns while living in Vermont.
It could have been the starches, sugars, chocolate, breads, breads, breads, brownies, or sandwiches piled high with calories.
It could have been quitting my exercise program.
Do you think any of these factors had a thing to do with it? Nah, me neither!
Be that as it may, I am now on my journey back into my Little Black Dress. Last count I had at least 15 of those black suckers in various sizes so I have a lot to work toward.
So. Here we are. I am taking you along the way through my life while I am on that journey.
I will chat some about healthy eating choices. I have spent a lot of time researching foods and their effect of your body like these, gadgets like these or this, and programs that work like this one.
I also chat about the love of my life – Alpha Hubby – who is an eletrical engineer (with a split personality) at the nuclear plant where we met but who is trying to make me a rancher’s wife – yeah right. Like THAT’S gonna happen to this city-slicker. It’s bad enough I’m living in the boonies… *ahem* I digress. I chat about this man who is beyond amazing and my hero as evidenced here.
Come along on the journey – share your own weight loss tips, stories, messes, and wins with me, too!
