Actually, it’s SUGAR not a rocky mountain.  A huge SUGAR high in Arkansas.  A huge sugar high in Arkansas that is making me sick this morning.  Oh bleh!

It’s pretty amazing how fast, after you’ve been off it awhile, white sugar can get into your system and make your body very unhappy.  We got the joint aches.  We got the nausea.  We got the swollen fingers.  We got the nausea.  Yeah, yeah, it’s worth repeating.  We also got the other end that we are too polite to talk about.

Alpha Son had his 27th birthday yesterday and we took him a cheesecake and ice cream to celebrate along with his present.  That would have been just fine – a small slice of cheesecake – but noooo.  No, there had to be someone’s homemade blackberry cobbler with WAAAAAAY too much sugar in it.  Everyone agreed it was too sweet.  I had a small dab – about 1/3 cup – and whooo doggies it was sweet.  Set your teeth on edge sweet.  Shoulda been called a sugar cobbler.

Today, I pay the price of that bad choice.  ‘Cause it wasn’t the only one I made.  Nope, I had to taste the incredibly sour (son’s fave) lemon pie and little dab of ice cream, too.  Waaaay too much sugar.  So I am not even allowed to whine about this sugar high ‘cause I made the choice all by my little lonesome.

What about Alpha Hubby, you ask?  That dadblasted amazingly stong-willed man.  He had one bite of ice cream and a sliver of cheesecake out of politeness (he’s not wild about any of it).  I doubt seriously he had any issues this morning ‘cause he didn’t eat that sugar cobbler.

We live and we die by the choices we make every day, every hour, every minute.  (In case you can’t tell, that’s chocolate in her other hand and it has a huge bite out of it.If you make bad choices, face up to it, forgive yourself, and then keep on this journey.  One sugar cobbler doesn’t have to take you off your pathway.  It might knock you out a day or two on the forward direction BUT after a day or two, it is all out of your system.  Of course during that day or two you gotta make good choices so as not to compound the issue.  Today, I am drinking lots of lemon water to flush out my poor system.

Choices.  Too bad we can’t blame them on someone else!

I have learned that some things are NOT my friend.  Like that lovely package below.

I had to make another list of foods to get out of my life for now.  They are ruining my forward progress in getting back into my Little Black Dresses!  It isn’t that they are bad for me, per se.  The whole-wheat bread is homemade and the cheese is made from raw milk & is organic, so no bad reactions.  You know the ones I’m talking about.  OH YES YOU DO – we’re all adults here.  We can talk about… FARTING!  See?  Made you smile, huh!?  Anyway, raw milk & raw milk products do not cause those issues.  BUT what’s hurting my diet goals is the FAT content. *Sigh*  So goodbye cheese and organic peanut butter.  And goodbye bread.

SAY HELLO TO MY LEETLE FRIEND (click on images to see larger picture):

This is my NEW favorite gadget.  I know, I know, you’re thinking “what makes this so special?!  Well, look at the steps here:

Now how cool is that?  You know how you get seeds in your water glass when adding lemon or oranges? This eliminates that.  Have you ever wanted to make your own fresh raspberry infused water?  Try my new friend (Amazon, of course).  When the fruit is done infusing the water, just remove the lid, unscrew the tube from the lid, dump the stuff down the disposal, replace the lid, stick the whole pitcher back in the fridge, and voilà! Cold, fresh, infused water!

What will they come up with next??

Oh yeah, and Amazon and Prodyne don’t know who I am and that I recommended their site and this pitcher!!
